Jonathan’s journey began in England, as an academic teaching law at Cambridge and as a barrister. After coming to California at teach at Stanford and then practicing at some of the world’s leading firms, he built a national reputation for handling the most challenging, high-stakes jury trials. Over four decades, he has tried dozens of cases — from billion-dollar corporate disputes and class actions to real estate, fraud, and commercial matters — in state and federal courts across the country. He has litigated, appealed, arbitrated, mediated, and settled hundreds of cases of all kinds, particularly involving real estate, as well as fraud, contracts, securities, access, discrimination, employment, and many other issues.

Known as a “parachuting” trial lawyer, Jonathan is often brought in at the critical moment when a case heads to trial and clients need an advocate who can distill complex issues into persuasive, winning narratives. With his calm presence, meticulous preparation, and intuitive understanding of jurors, he has become a trusted partner to in-house counsel, executives, and fellow attorneys nationwide.
